Graston Technique® Therapy in Tampa, FL
Restore Mobility, Reduce Pain, and Heal Faster
Scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and chronic tightness can limit movement and contribute to pain throughout your body. The Graston Technique® (GT) is an advanced manual therapy approach that uses specialized stainless steel instruments to effectively break down scar tissue, improve fascial mobility, and promote healing.
At Intuitive Therapies & Pelvic Health, we integrate Graston Technique® into holistic treatment plans to help you move better, feel better, and function at your best.
What is Graston Technique®?
Graston Technique® is a form of Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). The specially designed tools allow your therapist to:
Detect areas of fascial restriction or scar tissue buildup
Gently break down adhesions to restore mobility
Stimulate blood flow and cellular healing
Improve muscle activation and neuromuscular control
Conditions Graston Technique® Can Help With
Scar tissue restrictions (C-section, abdominal, perineal scars)
Myofascial pain and trigger points
Chronic tightness or stiffness
Tendinopathies (hip, groin, abdominal, or pelvic floor-related)
Low back, SI joint, or hip pain
Pelvic floor dysfunction related to fascial restrictions
Post-surgical recovery
What Does Graston Technique® Feel Like?
During treatment, you may feel:
Gentle scraping or gliding along your skin
Areas of mild tenderness where adhesions are present
Increased warmth or redness as blood flow is stimulated
Most clients describe it as a “hurts so good” type of relief. You may experience some mild soreness afterward, similar to a deep tissue massage, which resolves within 24-48 hours as your tissue heals. We always advise using cryotherapy (cold pack) on the area to help with any post-acute inflammation and promote healing.
