Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome: (EDS) Support
Compassionate, personalized care for complex bodies
Living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome can be exhausting. From daily pain and fatigue to frequent subluxations, digestive issues, and pelvic floor dysfunction, many people with EDS are left feeling misunderstood—or dismissed entirely. At Intuitive Therapies & Pelvic Health, we believe your body’s complexity deserves a care plan that’s just as thoughtful and layered.
Our goal is to help you feel more at home in your body by addressing the unique challenges that come with hypermobility, connective tissue dysfunction, and co-occurring conditions like POTS, MCAS, and pelvic floor disorders
What is Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome?
EDS is a group of hereditary connective tissue disorders that affect collagen production, impacting the strength and elasticity of your joints, skin, blood vessels, and internal organs. The most common subtype is Hypermobile EDS (hEDS), which often coexists with other nervous system or immune-related conditions. Many individuals with hEDS are misdiagnosed for years, especially when their symptoms are invisible or inconsistent.
Common Symptoms We Address
Chronic joint pain, instability, or frequent dislocations
Fatigue and post-exertional crashes
Pelvic floor dysfunction, including prolapse, incontinence, and pain with intimacy
Gastrointestinal concerns such as IBS, bloating, or constipation
Autonomic dysfunction, like dizziness, brain fog, and POTS
Sensory sensitivity and heightened stress responses
Poor proprioception or difficulty knowing where your body is in space.
Our Approach
We take a whole-body, nervous system-informed approach to care. Our work together may include:
Manual therapy to support fascial health, joint alignment, and lymphatic flow
Pelvic floor therapy that emphasizes coordination and awareness, not just strength
Breathwork and postural training to support stability and vagal tone
Nervous system regulation techniques for pain, fatigue, and emotional overwhelm
Gentle strength-building strategies that prioritize pacing and joint protection
Education and environmental modifications to help you thrive in daily life
Every session is customized to your symptoms, goals, and how you're feeling that day. We work collaboratively, honoring your lived experience while guiding you toward greater comfort and resilience.
Why OT for EDS?
Occupational therapy bridges the gap between medical treatment and real life. With EDS, the "little things" often aren’t so little—basic routines like showering, working, or caring for your family can take a huge toll. Our job is to help you participate more fully in the activities that matter most, with less pain and more control over your health.
We offer practical solutions rooted in trauma-informed care, with a deep respect for your autonomy, capacity, and intuition.
Ready to work together?
You don’t need to explain your pain one more time. We already believe you. If you’re looking for a provider who sees the full picture and honors your complexity, we’re here to support you.
